Ari is a general paediatrician with expertise in cardiology, trained in the UK. He has been employed in Waikato Hospital, Hamilton since September 2017, and is in private practice with Midland Paediatric Specialists and Waikato Heart groups since 2019.
Following his undergraduation from Madras Medical College (India), he undertook his specialist training in paediatrics, neonates and paediatric cardiology in UK (CCT 2009). He has had training in tertiary paediatric cardiology centres in Birmingham and Leicester (UK).He was a consultant paediatrician (cardiology) in Shrewsbury, UK between 2009 and 2017, before moving to NZ. His research interests include congenital anomalies and inherited heart diseases. He has published his research work on effects of hyperventilation in children investigated for Long QT syndrome, and has presented many audit and research projects in international conferences.
He consults for a wide range of general paediatric problems and provides comprehensive health checks including for immigration purposes.
He assesses and manages children with congenital or acquired heart diseases, provides screening for inherited heart diseases and offers investigations for health concerns where a cardiac diagnosis may be suspected. He is well experienced in echocardiography (heart ultrasound scan), 12 lead ECG, ambulatory ECG (holter), event recorder and exercise tolerance test in children.
