Information for families

COVID update:
Please refer to NZ government’s advice on current COVID pandemic alert level and recommended health and safety measures. We comply with these requirements as well and doctors would be wearing mask during examination during alert level 2 or higher. We follow strict hand hygiene measures all the time. You may be required to wait in the car until called if adequate social distancing couldn’t be maintained within our facility during busy times. We are also able to offer telehealth consultations, depending on nature of clinical concerns.

01. Referrals
We welcome referrals from GPs, allied health professionals and other specialists. Some of our doctors may accept direct contact from patients wishing to make an appointment. However, depending on the nature of condition , they may recommend a GP referral too. Please contact our admin team to check the availability and requirements. If your doctor is recommending our service, it is useful to have a referral letter containing any relevant information and results of previous investigations.
02. What to bring
Please bring any questionnaire sent to you and doctor’s referral letter, if these have not already been sent to the clinic team. Please bring copies of any previous test results, if you have with them with you. Bring your child’s well child book (with immunisation record) and previous measurements of weight, height and/or head circumference (particularly if there are concerns about their growth).
03. Your consultation
A child’s first visit may take anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes. Please note that any child referred to the group or an individual may be triaged to an appropriate consultant based on their sub-speciality interest and availability, unless you have a particular preference. We are also able to provide telehealth consultation. This is generally an option for follow-up but new consultations can also be offered via telehealth, depending on nature of concerns. If this is a preferred option, please discuss with our admin team who will in turn discuss with the concerned specialist.
04. Charges
Fees are available on request. Consultation costs can be claimed directly from the insurance company such as Southern Cross, NIB etc, however some policy exclusion or excesses may apply. We are happy to provide information to arrange insurance provider’s pre-approval, if required. Payment is collected by EFTPOS prior to departing the clinic, unless by arrangement or fully covered by insurance companies.
